Hmmm the little kid (Albert Einstein) explains in physics to his professor why God is not the source of evil. Apart from understanding what the little boy is saying in german, I kinda find it a little hard to understand his reasoning though it sounds quite intellectual and after which, silences his professor. I was thinking it through and perhaps the little boy's reasoning of why God is not evil does make sense in the common sense. But the Scriptural proof of why God is not the author of evil is because He is Light. In John 1:5, it says 'The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.' (NASB) If the 'Light' here refers to Christ, which it does, it is a direct opposite of darkness, which is sin and evil, hence God cannot relate at all to the darkness/sin. Christ Himself came as a sinless Godman onto earth and died sinless after 33 years of life on earth. In Him there is no darkness. Rather, this darkness flees from the Light. What a comfort to know that this attribute of God - His goodness, never changes. God is not evil, but because of the sin of this world, evil permeates. We like to define evil according to our experiences, our sufferings/pain/outrage of what we define as injustice. We want to believe in a good God who is too good to allow evil into the world. However, that is based on the wisdom of man; denying that God is sovereign over all. Evil, whether it be for the better or worse depends on the sinner himself. In Romans 8:28, God causes 'all things to work for together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.' This is a Christian's hope, that is in Christ, the unmovable unchangeable author of consistent goodness. A look at this article would probably give us more insight http://www.sfpulpit.com/2007/09/18/our-good-god/
