went to the deck this morning to have lunch. managed to avoid the lunch crowd at an early 10.15am. a few people sparsely spreaded around the deck. hence i was able to get my favourite hilly spot. bought the yong tau foo, which was $1.60 for 6 pieces of food & noodles!!! no wonder the queue is as long as a dragon boat (mostly longer. about two dragon boats long) everyday from 1200 to about 1330. here's a picture of my eaten yong tau foo. it has a squiggly strand of mee that i thought was quite cute:

'Why I left the Contemporary Christian Movement' is a book that i have been trying to press myself down on the bed to read. Since i'm only at the beginning 2 chapters, i decided to see what others on the net had to say about this book. One of them goes like this:
Some months ago, I received an email from a BACHorgan.com community member informing me of a book entitled "Why I Left the Contemporary Christian Music Movement: Confessions of a Former Worship Leader." I ordered the book, by Dan Lucarini, and, when I finally got around to reading it, I was glad I did. Here was a book that actually took a stand against Praise bands and their music.
It's one thing to complain about traditional music and pipe organs being pushed out of churches and it is quite another thing to publish a manifesto against this movement, complete with supporting chapter and verse from The Bible. Lucarini's book pulls down each pillar of the Praise movement's defense and does so outside the realm of personal opinion. Nicely done.
I recognized the brands of churches Lucarini talks about in his book. I have Rampaged in the past about churches that remove all traces of the Cross from the sanctuary and skip those parts of the Bible that talk about sin so as not to make anyone feel bad about themselves.
"If our target and our mission is to reach the unchurched..." begins a quote from a church spokesperson in one of the articles. Lucarini addresses this kind of flawed reasoning. A church's mission isn't to simply reach the unchurched but also to minister to its members--all of them. Not just the ones who want to stay home on Christmas or hear rock music in church.
In the same article, another church spokesperson says, "We believe that you worship every day of the week, not just on a weekend, and you don't have to be in a church building to worship." Follow that argument to its logical conclusion and you'll find yourself wondering why you need a church at all. Hardly an argument to rely on for a church that wants to keep its doors open.

yes see i've been watching national day. and guess what, you dont have to have front row seats in the 'world's first floating platform' to watch fireworks! you can watch it from your home balcony or garden like what i did. it's a little blur though cos there's no long shutter camera around the house. well, evidence of a little patriotism. here you go

bought crocs - a nice charcoal & sea colour. it has a few plus points:
1) i can jump/bounce in it!
2) i can run for the bus w/o dropping it halfway
3) i can go build sandcastles on the beach comfortably
4) it does not scream 'crocs!'
5) it does not cause blisters like birks

Who Am I
I'm Lois, a human being saved and currently alive by God's grace.
[I am crucified with Christ: neverthless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me.
