My friends in America are celebrating Thanksgiving now and even though it's not a Singaporean tradition, it is wise to remember our lives as written and laid out for us by the Almighty God:
I look towards the wintering trees To hush my fretful soul As they rise to face the icy sky And hold fast beneath the snow Their rings grow wide, their roots go deep That they might hold their height And stand like valiant soldiers Through the watches of the night
No human shoulder ever bears The weight of all the world But hearts can sink beneath the ache Of trouble's sudden surge Yet far beyond full knowing There's a strong unsleeping light That reaches round to hold me Through the watches of the night
I have cried upon the steps that seem Too steep for me to climb And I've prayed against a burden I did not want to be mine But here I am and this is where You're calling me to fight And You I will remember Through the watches of the night You I will remember Through the watches of the night

Know what is lateral thinking? If not, here's an interesting story i got from the introduction to a card game called MindTrap:
There's a popular story of a man who was imprisoned, who was well aware that his mail was thoroughly screened by the authorities. He and his wife correspond on a regular basis and in one of her letters to him, she wrote that she was going to begin planting the garden but she couldn't operate the rotor-tiller. She said the ground was rock hard and without the machine it would be very difficult to turn the soil using just a spade.
In his reply the husband wrote; "Good God woman, don't plant anything in the garden, that's where I hid the money and the guns!"
Within a week or so the prisoner received another letter from his wife saying that a dozen police officers descended on the house and dug up the garden. "I don't know what they were looking for, but they certainly didn't find anything. By the way, she inquired, "what were they looking for?"
The husband wrote back; "False alarm, nothing to worry about. Oh and by the way, I believe the garden should be ready for planting!"
THAT is Lateral Thinking!

if you thought that the only cloud formations primary school kids are ever going to learn are cirrus, cumulus, nimbus and stratus, check this wikipedia link out. The international Cloud Appreciation Society has recognized a new cloud kind this year since 1951's Cirrus intortus. It's named undulatus asperatus...

Who Am I
I'm Lois, a human being saved and currently alive by God's grace.
[I am crucified with Christ: neverthless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me.
Galations 2:20]
