God the Creator of all heaven and earth. I can hardly comprehend that at times, but at the same time, take that so many times for granted. It's only by looking, exploring, pondering, do we realize that this God whom alone created the world, is indeed all-knowing, all-powerful and all-present. But it does not stop there, He sent His only Son to die for us wretched beings. How many times we deny that Christ is indeed Lord. Hardrock evidence of the wonders of God's creation all around disproves the previous denial. Just look at how wide the ocean is, how high the heavens are and how deep are the deepest seas. That is the width, height and depth of Christ's love for us.

The above magic eye shows "E=mc2" (try it and see for yourselves but dont go blind!)
Just witnessed a 2nd protest today in school. The people protesting were mostly Latinos who were working in UCI, but not hired by UCI itself. They were outsourced. As a result, they were paid lower wages with no or less benefits then being in the UC system. That's what my lecturer said they were rallying about. In any case, I saw my teaching assistant rallying along with them walking around Ring Road in campus! That was a funny sight seeing my tutor marching and shouting.
Another good news, you know those magic eye books, i finally FINALLY can see 3D images from those seemingly impossible images! Yarooh! I first attempted to see those images at my paediatrician's clinic where he would hang many on the walls. Everyone could see them except me. Now i can!

La Jolla Beach sunset
Just came back from San Diego, where i went to the famous La Jolla (pronounced as La-HOY-a) beach, San Diego Zoo and also San Diego Wild Animal Park. I must say that i cant help but marvel at God's wonderful handiwork. One of the benches in the Wild Animal Park had a plague saying: 'All creatures great and small'. And immediately, it came to mind the song my older brother used to sing in Saint Hildas primary and written by Cecil Frances Alexander. The lyrics truly describe what i've experienced in San Diego and definitely whenever I step out of my apartment.
Refrain: All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small, all things wise and wonderful: the Lord God made them all.
1. Each little flower that opens, each little bird that sings, God made their glowing colors, and made their tiny wings. (Refrain)
2. The purple-headed mountains, the river running by, the sunset and the morning that brightens up the sky. (Refrain)
3. The cold wind in the winter, the pleasant summer sun, the ripe fruits in the garden: God made them every one. (Refrain)
4. God gave us eyes to see them, and lips that we might tell how great is God Almighty, who has made all things well. (Refrain)

have been singing beautiful hymns in Cornerstone Bible Church and would just like to share one which i will definitely try to teach my basics back home when i come back! It's called Thy Mercy:
1. Thy mercy, my God, is the theme of my song, The joy of my heart. and the boast of my tongue; Thy free grace alone, from the first to the last, Hath won my affections, and bound my soul fast.
2. Without Thy sweet mercy I could not live here; Sin would reduce me to utter despair; But, through Thy free goodness, my spirits revive, And He that first made me still keeps me alive.
3. Thy mercy is more than a match for my heart, Which wonders to feel its own hardness depart; Dissolved by Thy goodness, I fall to the ground, And weep to the praise of the mercy I’ve found.
4. Great Father of mercies, Thy goodness I own, And the covenant love of Thy crucified Son; All praise to the Spirit, Whose whisper divine Seals mercy, and pardon, and righteousness mine. All praise to the Spirit, Whose whisper divine Seals mercy, and pardon, and righteousness mine.
It was intially written as a hymn but since, the melody has been recomposed and i love the new one so much but i dont have a piano. so those of you out there who are piano lovers like me, feel free to enter this free hymn-cum-piano sheet site which i found! HYMNS GALORE!!! http://www.igracemusic.com/hymnbook/hymns/t12.html

In California, one of the first things that i noticed was that we could actually call all the roads our grandfather's (if you remember the term 'grandfather's road')! When we cross the road anywhere (highways and freeways not included), we could actually cross and the cars will stop and not honk at you! That's what i call grandfather's road. Of course, the pedestrian cannot take that for granted and just cross without looking.
Went to Fashion Island, Newport Beach's biggest shopping district. The sunset from Fashion Island, looking towards Newport Beach and the Pacific Ocean was so beautiful. One of my friends commented that the sunset looked like the gradient background of the California Fitness logo.

just experienced an earthquake, which happened in San Bernardino (approx 4 hours drive away from Irvine). it was 5.0 on the richter scale. that's moderate but quite a biggie for a first-timer like me! people across california felt it, including huilin, who immediately msned me. i didnt even thought of it as a plate moving! One guy from i dunno where, but seemingly in San Bernardino itself, said this "I am watching the national college football game. I jumped up to save my tv"... like he was playing football real life as well! Another: "Thats it! Im moving to IRAQ where its safe". And another person said "Felt it in Vista, CA (North San Diego County). Bird flew off the cage". That's quite something to feel it in San Diego and have a bird fly out! In Irvine, we just shaked gently. My first thought was someone climbing up the stairs really hard and fast. Cos Park West is not really made out of concrete totally. Ha.. that was a funny thought.
Today is the second day of school. I didnt take note of the change of one lecture's venue and got 25 min late cos I sat in the wrong lecture hall (i even made one new friend there!) But other than that slight slip up, school has been very interesting so far. my lecturers have been very passionate about what they teach, especially for this particular one who teaches US war on terrorism and vietnam war. He kind of lectured us, or rather those local students for not realizing the atrocities of the vietnam war earlier. Strange but passionate otherwise. Lecture halls look different everywhere but i'll show you one. Campus is pleasant looking though i dont see anyone sitting on the grass just yet. School is just 10 weeks so time will fly quite fast. My friend has to submit a term paper this 1st wk of sch!

Just went to Disneyland yesterday. It was simply breathtaking to see all the workmanship put into the entire park. I was just thinking, if Man can create such beautiful structures to seem like real, what more so our God, who created the scenery we see all around USA and the rest of the world. Just in Irvine alone, the scenery is just so well made that one can't help but to look ahead in awe and come to the conclusion that there is indeed a Creator behind every single thing, including ourselves. Will show you a few photos I took in the park. We rode a total of 5 rides. 2 more than in 6 flags. That is an improvement!

Wholesome Choice supermarket
Shisha smoking pipes for sale in a supermarket!
Yesterday was a slow day and where majority went to make their bank accts whilst Hafiiz and i went around Park West and to shop for groceries. The nearest supermarket is called Wholesome choice and has really a wide wholesome variety to choose from! Reminds me of cold storage in Sg. They even sell Shisha smoking pipes! This is kind of because their target customers come from the middle east and asia in general. They sell spices, naan bread and kosher stuff. But no chilli! I can live with that for awhile. After groceries, we attempted swimming. The pool was really private with a lock which only residents in Parkwest could open. But, it was cold... assuming that the jacuzzi would be warm, we stepped in and stayed frozen till we left 30 min later. ended up more tensed than relaxed in the spa. that ends my swimming endeavours in irvine.
Half of my apartment. This is the hall. It's unfurnished as you can see. The bedroom is inside with a walkin closet and a bathroom.
Beautiful sky over a nearby golfing range
Whilst we were 'swimming', the rest walked back from the bank. it took them close to 1h 1/2 for just a walk from the bank. since i'm here, i realised how blessed we are in singapore. actually, before that, many people have praised her for her excellent transport system. now i get it. there are public buses which pick people up. but most only pick up people in the morning and there is no return ride!

Who Am I
I'm Lois, a human being saved and currently alive by God's grace.
[I am crucified with Christ: neverthless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me.
Galations 2:20]
