It seems this week that all the seminars collaborated to present on the topic of migrant workers. And it was definitely an eye-opener, especially when the human rights class presenters invited one of them (his name is spelt as Linton i think) to come speak to us. He is from Bangladesh and like countless other fellow workers, he was cheated by his agent and boss into coming to Singapore to work but in the end lost his job and even his right to stay legally in Singapore. It was a heartwarming time talking to him and not seeing him with 'coloured' eyes. He is as human as anyone else in Singapore and not a lesser being as we are often guilty of looking at them as.
