Starbucks in Dover O_O!!!

Wow a new hideout for Lois! Fusionopolis (just diagonally across the street) has a hidden Starbucks to study in and a hidden Marketplace to shop in! Starbucks in dover! ahhh why only discovered now! I cant study there cos I have no reason to study now and for the next 5 months in Singapore. but still, i love the supermarket. It has this cool device that changes its screen due to sensors to advertise products along the aisle! It even gives free recipes downloaded via free sms in the Marketplace! That's why cold storage is such a nice place to shop in. There's a different feel as compared to other supermarts where you just grab what you need and go. Coldstorage lures you with music, good presentation of goods and nice smells everywhere. Makes the shopper go: "I must buy everything!"

One Kenyan lady in TIME magazine just had twins and named them Barack and Michelle after Mr and Mrs Obama. This led me think... so the woman named her babies after these 2 people cos they were famous and famous for a good cause. What if they suddenly (hypothetically) became corrupt and evil? Won't naming your children after them suddenly be wrong as well? Moral of the thought: Never name your kids after human beings who are still alive.

Everyone seemed to be in need of some kind of exam wellness pack. I queued up for both the arts one and the nus student union one - both of course, for fun. For the arts one, i happened to be walking by and had the privilege of being first in the queue. For the student union one, boy was the queue long! I spent a total of over an hour queueing for the big bag of goodies. You would expect the 'exam wellness pack' to contain exam-relieving related items. Not! Only half of them qualify.

Look at what they gave in the student union one:

1) 1 bottle of Newater (no comment)
2) 1 can of Mili Jackfruit (this was the heaviest item) - my dad: 'why jackfruit?'
3) 1 can of Nescafe (this is considered exam-related)
4) 1 highlighter (this adds stress. not relieve it)
5) 1 packet of Lackerol sweets (this is exam-related - gives sugar rush)
6) 1 box x 12 of sunflower seeds imported from Thailand (this was a cute random thing)
7) 1 advertisement asking us to call the nus hotline in case we were thinking of commiting suicide from over-stress (ahh. this is totally exam-related.. lol)
8) A couple of newly-marketed Milo-mocha 3-in-1 packets (this can be exam-related. just that it was most prob for advertising purposes - dun try it)
9) The student union calendar (this was an optional item but i took it anyway for queueing up so long)

Well, there are so many things! But i'm a happy garang guni so i have no problem keeping them as i like such stuff. Check out the queue for the student union pack! We moved 40cm every 3 min

Was admiring my parrot fish this morning when i realised that something foreign had invaded the tank. it was white and looked plastiky. lo and behold! it was a dead lizard! (images below might be disturbing. if feeling green, avoid scrolling down). I theorized the below of how it died:

Apparently, the lid of the tank to the filter is quite easy to lift up. Lizard could have wanted to have a dash of water or a swim (that would have been silly). So it lifted up the lid and 'goldilocks! there's a big hole and i can't reverse gear!' End up dropping into the anti-chlorined and medicated green water. Poor thing as the 2 stunned parrot fish watch it sink to the depths of the tank without being able to help. The fish have never seen a land creature swim in their midst before. And so, the lizard drowns and dies. Traumatised me had to lift it up with the fish net. Sad story.

Found these 2 signs at AS7 and science 3 photocopying machines. Quite cute. Uncle Lim is such an endearing term and the cash card machine in the 2nd picture seems to have emotions and a sense of touch too.
