today, while walking back to work from lunch, i came across a man crossing the road. BUT the funky thing was that he was illegally crossing the road (jay-crossing) on his automated wheelchair ALONE. I was totally fixated on his machine as he, not gingerly, but boldly crossed the 4-lane road to the tan tock seng hospital side. apparently, he went for lunch across the road in his hospital gown and was making his way back. I was quite amazed by the fact that the wheelchair had an 'up-slope' function. it would be quite a sight if he ran out of battery half way. 3 cheers for automated wheelchairs!
